Chrysoprase
Chrysoprase is one of the Star Signs for Gemini. Its green color is usually caused by traces of nickel. Beautiful green chrysoprase is the second most valuable variety of chalcedony after gem silica. The name “chrysoprase” is from the Greek words for “golden apple” or “golden leek.” Today it is most often used for making beads and cabochons.
Chrysoprase (sometimes known as chrysophrase or simply, phrase), is a distinctive green stone made of silica containing small amounts of nickel. It’s the semi-precious birthstone alternative to emeralds in May as well as the Zodiac stone for Gemini (May 21 – June 21).
